In True VENETIAN STYLE
Yay! September is here, signalling the new fashion calendar. This is usually celebrated with amazing and lavish September magazine issues, so we thought why not go all out and do something a bit different from our norm. We wanted to go for something a bit vogue, with a vintage’y art feel. This was shot in Venice, with the Bridge of Sighs in the background, on our recent trip to Italy. One of the most well known bridges in the world, the Bridge of Sighs is said to be named that as it connected the interrogation rooms in Doge’s Palace to the New Prison. Therefore it was on it that prisoners took one last look at the real world (with a sigh, as you do) because, once convicted in the kingdom of Doge, they never could go back to the ‘real world’. Built between the 16th and 17th century, in limestone, this white and elegant trademark is now a symbol of the over-romanticism Venice is well known for (in connection with the sight of lovers everywhere on gondola rides, seen from this bridge). Perhaps, one of the biggest attractions in Venezia, legend has it that if a couple passes under the Bridge of Sighs, their love will last forever. Aaah well, good for us then.
In other news, we are just trying to make the most of the European Summer which is now coming to an end, sadly. So there will be a lot of travelling for us in the next few weeks, which make blogging a bit harder… but I promise I will do my best 😉 Have an awesome month and thank you for your continued support, and do let us know how you like our new cover… and if you do, click here for more of our monthly covers in fabulous places around the globe.
