UNIQLO MELBOURNE – From Tokyo With Love
JAPANESE fast-fashion giant Uniqlo is set to open its first Australian store in Melbourne early this year. It is the latest in a series of major international fashion retailers to enter the Australian market.
“We are very excited to be opening our first store in Melbourne, Australia,” said Uniqlo Australia chief executive Shoichi Miyasaka. “The city is a great centre of style and we hope to make Uniqlo an essential stop for fashion-conscious Melbourne shoppers looking for high quality, affordable clothes.”
The Japanese retail giant quietly opened the pop-up outlet last weekend, before the launch of its first Australian flagship store which will be located in the Emporium shopping centre – being constructed within the facade of the old Myer department store building on Lonsdale Street in the city centre. The store will be spread over four floors and include men’s, women’s children’s and baby clothes. Now that’s something to look forward to!
