THE MAXI DRESS EDIT 2018
The Maxi Dress Edit 2018: If you are following my journey you’d remember that I recently re-located to one of the hottest places in Australia, with the most beautiful beaches on the planet… so no complaints from moi. After all I grew up in a pretty hot country; mostly occupied by the Kalahari desert – so yeah, it was pretty much easy to adapt. However, my wardrobe didn’t fit in as much as I did, after spending a decade and a half in Melbourne plus a stint in Europe last year. As much as I will miss winter coats and the lot, I am pretty excited to start building an all year long summer wardrobe, starting with the above mentioned maxi-dress edit. Last week I featured this beautiful blue dress, but this week it’s all about this super sleek black maxi dress which is perfect for a casual day at the beach, but still smart enough to take you from beach to drinks at twilight. With a beautifully detailed empire waist and geometric bodice, this baby will most definitely give you that sophisticated sleek silhouette that does nothing but flatter. Sure, mine is a snug fit (had I realized I was a bit too bootylicious for this cut, perhaps I’d have gone for the next size up). But it still looks great so I don’t mind at all. Time to embrace the curves.
I paired the the dress with an easy scarf for lazy hair days, and these gorgeous, laser cut, cat eye sunglasses (also from Tobi.com) for that head-turning effect 😉 Heels or a pair of strappy flats, you decide, as this is an effortlessly beautiful dress that doesn’t require much to look stunning.
