melbourne cup DAY FASHION

Nothing confirms that I was born to live in Melbourne better than this; there’s a public holiday just to look fabulous and wear the most extravagant hats! It’s not called The Race That Stops The Nation for nothing. The whole atmosphere and buzz makes one involuntarily pause, and behold the breathtaking gorgeous-ness that takes over. Well, that day is finally here for the nation to stop and celebrate the Emirates Melbourne Cup Race. The weather is great, and the fashion… amazing! Couldn’t have had a better outcome. We decided to keep in theme with the day and don some millinery that stops traffic. To let this lovely flame of fabulosity burn even brighter, we paired it with cream and gold for maximum effect. Now that’s a colour combo you can’t go wrong with. Enjoy your most fashionable public holiday Melbourne, and may the best horse win 😉

A Little Background

Each year at 3pm on the first Tuesday of November, the greatest thoroughbreds from around the world descend upon Flemington to battle it out for a chance at the $6.2 million in prize money and to cement their names into history. The Melbourne Cup is the richest handicap race held in Australia, and the prize money and trophies make it among the richest horse-races in the world.

A big congratulations to Fiorente who won the race!
