All that Glitters is gold… or is it really? LOL, honestly, I kind’a  wanted to leave this one blank. If you’ve followed us for sometime, you’d know every single one of our blog covers has some sort of mission statement for the month written on it. But this one is just blank. It’s open for interpretation I guess. Kind’a signifies how I’ve been feeling lately. Kind’a blank. Maybe it’s just from exhaustion. The exhaustion of trying new things like getting a personal trainer. Yes, I finally succumbed to my worst fear; paying someone to bully me – army bootcamp style! (Insert crying emoji face). First of all, I hate going to the gym (I used to go religiously a few years ago just to stay fit but I never enjoyed it!). I probably even promised myself that I’d never ever get a personal trainer! But I also promised myself that I’d never let myself get fat. Go figure. Ah, well, I gotta pay for it right? As they say… desperate times call for desperate measures. Quite true. I know when we have babies our bodies change blah blah blah. Yeah fine, but I just haven’t been eating healthy for the past 2 years due to sleepless nights, exhaustion e.t.c and every other lovely thing that comes with being a new mum. That being said, I can’t really blame the baby thing – I am totally responsible for all the junk that I put inside my body, and the exercise that I deprived it. And unfortunately now is the time to pay for it. So yeah mamas, sometimes we just have to take responsibility, bite our bottom lip and get on with it. I know society encourages us to embrace that mummy body and be realistic e.t.c. Hmmm, That’s nice. But if that mummy body is the reason you don’t have much energy, you are miserable coz you feel fat (and you are fat LOL), then maybe it’s time to admit it’s not working for you. Yes, a bit of a controversial thought, I know. But do it for yourself (if you are not happy with where you are fitness-wise). If you are happy with your mummy body then congratulations! I am totes glad for you but I personally want to be in the best shape I can be for myself, my family and the work that God has called me to do. So yeah… let’s keep it moving. As for all this glitter and gold, well… you have to check out this post for the full golden effect.

Have a great month! We are almost halfway through the year, so I challenge you to do something a bit out of your comfort zone. For yourself. Even if society is telling you to be happy with the status quo. Go for the gold.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline / a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
