50s style FASHION TRENDS
I took a little detour from my usual and tried something different, a girly type of dress. I do reference the 50s a lot in my style, just not in an ‘in your face’ kind of way (not that there is anything wrong with that). So yes, this is as girly girly as I will probably ever get; a 50s kind of silhouette in a very bright shade of pink. I sort of straightened my hair for the occasion too, but because I am not a fan of the bone straight look (on me), I opted more for these bombshell type of ringlets with volume and I must say they were all the rage on that day. LOL. Those 50s inspired dresses are not only trés feminine, but extra tight around the waist which can be quite a challenge when you are used to wearing loose clothing hahaha. That aside, what girl doesn’t love to have a tiny wasp-like waist? I layered two different types of neck pieces just to add some personality to the whole look and make it more ‘me’. As for the glasses, matchy matchy didn’t hurt at all, and the Alpine backdrop was just a cherry on top of this rather colourful cake. This was in Switzerland by the way, just in case you missed our cover which can be seen here. So those are the Swiss Alps and Lake Geneva you are looking at. Gorgeous country.
This time around, I decided to add a little bit of a behind the scenes with my daughter just to give you a feel of what our shoots are like nowadays. We have to take breaks every few seconds for a kiss and cuddle… but then again, who’s complaining? Enjoy the snaps and I do hope you deviate from your usual personal style every now and then, because trying new things often helps you discover a new side of you, which is always an exciting thing, right? Right.
