A Swiss Summer Edition

Switzerland has always been on my travel goals for as long as I can remember. In fact, I loved it so much I fantasized about moving there. All the time. Audibly. But of course my husband prefers to reside in an English speaking country, so yeah, I let that ship sail. It still remained on my top 3 travel destinations list though, so a Swiss Summer was an easy choice as a birthday present to moi this year (seeing that we were only 2 hours away) and I’ll tell you, it did not disappoint. It is as picture perfect as I imagined. Everything seems so proper and so orderly; the air is so much fresher and cleaner, and… it could just be me, but the people seemed to have much more smoother skin than your average. Go figure! So yes, it was an awesome birthday present!

On a different note though, I know some may be thinking, another travel shot… hmm, I wish I had your awesome life! LOL, the truth is, if you’d told me last year, or even 6 months ago that I’d be in Switzerland this summer, with all that glorious post-card like view of the Alps and Lake Geneva, I’d have thought you were crazy! But, this just goes to show how we should never limit God’s awesome plan for our lives. You just never know where He is going to place you. The key is to let go of control, play the card you have been dealt well, stop comparing yourself with others, mind your own business and do everything excellently no matter how insignificant or how small your audience. Plus, never ever settle for less than God’s best for your life. And of course most importantly; pray and be thankful (unceasingly) for what you have right now (it may not seem like much to you, but someone else out there, is desperately praying for that).

As for the new style, I straightened my hair for my birthday because I needed a temporary change (and a little snip was overdue too, coz I am not trying to be a mermaid). So yeah, I thought this pin up’y, slash vintage look was a nice change. And of course,  I just had to curl the hair for a bit of volume because bone straight hair (on me) just makes me feel…erm… flat.
