It’s always disheartening to hear people talking about being ‘over-the-hill’ as if in life there’s some peak we work towards, only to be followed by a downward spiral. It’s a pretty depressing picture really, and we say NO to that. And if you are one of those people, please do yourself a favour and quit using that phrase. In God’s kingdom we are always heaven bound, looking up and reaching for even greater things.
The truth is, with Jesus you are never ‘over-the-hill’. You are created to go from strength to strength. And, yes, your body will weaken and ultimately fail. But the core of who you are doesn’t have to. “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” 2 Cor 4:16
“Life isn’t about perfection… it’s about being utterly relentless and refusing to give up, give in or stay down until you’re done” Holley Gerth
