It’s all part of life. The ups and the downs. The highs and the lows. The mountain tops and the valleys. However you refer to those seasons in life, one thing is for sure; one season feels lit, while the latter feels dark. One calls for reflection (not by choice), while the other has praise coming out of your lips. It’s just seasons in life, but your reaction makes all the difference. One can drive you to a point of almost giving up. Disheartened. Distressed. While the other will make you feel invincible! Such delirium. Such euphoria. Surely we were never meant to stay in one season forever. Because as different as they maybe, they are there to compliment each other in the purpose they serve in our lives. They are both necessary because they drive us into the arms of God, whether it is out of desperation and trepidation, or gratitude and worship. Either way, all should be a reminder that beyond the cosmos and our limited thinking, someone is in control of it all – and it is up to you and me to learn to find our light in the shade, or at least a silhouette of hope. Because, whether we see it or not, it is always there. That glimmer of hope. All you have to do is look up, to The One who loves you loves you more than you will ever know. And before you know it, your face will be illuminated once again, by His love, grace and mercy….
After all is said and done, all we can do is pray we move through all seasons elegantly and in a timely manner, for the sake of the little audiences who are forever watching, learning and soaking in every single one of our reactions to life. And always remember, whatever the case, you should never be defined by the seasons you go through. For they are but a fleeting time period. One in which we are supposed to learn to find our beauty in the dark, and identify that season’s purpose in our lives.
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” Ecclesiastes 3:1
