The Lavender Fields Issue
For as long as I can remember, purple has always been my favourite colour. There is just something exciting about it, even though subtle. Something beautiful and intriguing. It is that one colour that is forever associated with royalty (well, at least in the Bible). So a trip to the lavender fields was inevitable, and boy was it worth it! Just seeing so many fields of sprawling beauty… it was like I had finally arrived in my fantasy world where the streets were purple.
That aside, I can’t believe the year is closer the end already! So much has happened this year, and it has been a very hectic period with all the moving and non-stop travelling. I am very grateful for all that but it can cause havoc to a girl’s schedule. So this time around I am going to try something new. I have just been so exhausted by it all that even blogging was a bit harder than usual. I know this is all part of the package as a full time mother to a toddler. And as true as that is, I know I have been neglecting my health and fitness, which has contributed to all the fatigue. Therefore, this month I have finally decided to switch on that thing in my brain, you know that button that just makes you fearless and invincible? The one that deletes all the excuses and allows you to finally confront all the stuff you’ve been putting off like hitting the gym? Yes, that red button is now on, and not only is it on… it is on BEAST mode baby! Sure, I’d like to sugar coat it and say, oh I am just doing it to improve my fitness blah blah blah, but the truth is, I am over my normal weight and simply put – I feel fat. Yes, I know as a mom your body changes after pregnancy and all that, but that is no reason to let myself go. I know I am not obese or anything close, but I am not doing myself any favours if I keep saying, well at least I am not that bad. Which is probably true. I am actually not that bad, but I just don’t want to let myself to cross that point of no return. So, I am going to nip this in the bud before it becomes a full blown problem. I just want to be happier and fit into my clothes properly. Is that too much for a girl to ask? And yes, of course improved fitness will be a fringe benefit of all the healthy eating and more active lifestyle I will now be embarking on.
