Of Kings and Queens
What’s with the Christmas tree? Ermm… because Christmas in July. Lol, now that we have cleared that up, let’s get down to the nitty gritty. Every blogger who has consistently blogged for a few months knows one of the hardest things about writing a post is coming up with a nice and catchy title. Well, I can’t say that was the case with this article because I am always guided by my pictures. But then the problem always comes when I try to marry the title with the writing. Hahaha, what a pickle indeed. Anyway, I just couldn’t ignore this giant chess board and it was perfect that I was in all black. I love chess. Only because the most powerful piece is the queen. Ain’t that just swell? A bit like real life huh… happy wife, happy life. (P.S. I didn’t say I play it, so don’t you go inviting me to your chess night etc).
Anyway, that’s just me in my favourite summer top, and my R Kelly pants (if you were dropping it like it’s hot in the 90’s you’ll get this). I did mention this top is going to endlessly feature on the blog because I am not buying any new clothes till I have reached my normal weight. I know I have been saying that for the past year or more, but I am not giving up. It’s not just a ‘looking good’ thing, but a ‘feel good’ thing too. I know you are tempted to compare, but don’t; because my norm is definitely not yours. So yeah, this was probably the first time I tried that dark lipstick trend thing. I am not a big fan, but I thought why not. It doesn’t look too shabby though, but you won’t see me wearing it around that often. It is definitely a personality thing, and I feel it looks better on darker skin. Just my opinion – shouldn’t change your views if you are into it.
Anyway, coming back to the title of my post, it was definitely inspired by that top picture (and the last one). You know, just hanging out with a king and a queen, and then I thought… of mice and men. Don’t ask me why – my thought pattern is just random, and if you don’t know what of mice and men is, google it. So yes, Of Kings and Queens. I am sure you have pretty much come to a conclusion that today is a rambling on kind’a post, and you may be right. But I do have a point. Yes, going back to hanging out to royalty. You and I may not prance around town wearing crowns and heavy robes, but we are royals. Even when we do not feel like it, or when wearing our R Kelly pants. So perhaps every now and then you need to hang out with royals to remind yourself who you really are.
