Looking Ahead & Embracing Change. Heraclitus was onto something when he said change is the only constant in life. I.e. It is that one thing you can count on to happen, whether you like it or not.  It is not always fun, but fear not – it can be dealt with positively. Before I delve into that though, exciting news first. After a year long hiatus, we are now back at headquarters. As much as we enjoyed our adventure, we are glad to be back to some familiarity, and hopefully we can take the familiar this season, twist and work it differently to make the most of it. After all, we do not know where we will be this time next year, right? Right.

For the past 3 or 4 years, I have probably spent more time on aeroplanes than I would have liked, honestly speaking. Yes, I do have a fear of heights, and yes, chances are I probably pray more when I am flying than not. There is something about being thirty six thousand feet up in the clouds that gives one a clarity of mind you know, enough to realize how very “Nearer my God To Thee” you really are. Oh yes! So yeah, a little prayer in the clouds never hurts, this girl just wants to make sure she is right with Mr Maker – just in case… because who are we kidding? Those ‘safety’ guidelines they force you to listen to on every flight have a zero probability of helping if that thing falls out of the sky! I’m just saying y’all… But hey, to get to exciting, beautiful adventures, we all have to go through a little bit of discomfort, fear and risk. (Photo taken in Venice).

When it comes to any change in life really, be it geographical, relational, financial e.t.c I have found that it is always good to see it as a new season. A fresh start to tackle some new opportunities, or even some old opportunities you’ve been putting off (if you are anything like me) with a new pair of eyes, and a brand new perspective. Your new season may be due to an exciting change in your life or a rather tragic and painful event. Either way, viewing it as an opportunity to start afresh will empower you with a renewed vigour and focus, and perhaps even help you reinvent yourself or your way of doing things. Hence why I am always writing posts about new beginnings and beginning again e.t.c. Because I am that girl who loves (and needs) a hundredth chance to do something. I am grateful to serve a God of the hundredth and millionth chance, who never ever changes even when I do. Even more so than change, He is forever constant, dependable, gracious, merciful and loving. The God of all seasons who always makes a way for us to be victorious with every changing season in our lives.
Here’s to an amazing month of May. Let’s leave all our doubts and frustrations behind, look ahead and embrace change plus all the opportunities it comes with and the hard work needed!
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens. Ecclesiastes 3:1
