“He who ignores discipline despises himself, but whoever heeds correction gains understanding.”
Proverbs 15:32 (NIV)
“A journey of a 1000 miles begins with one step.” Chinese Proverb
Discipline. It’s a quality most of us would love to have. More often than not, we treat it as an inherited trait (in an effort to excuse ourselves), but truth be told – no one is born disciplined. It is something that requires continual work until it becomes a habit – A necessary habit known to be the only bridge between dreams and accomplishments.
We all want great results but few are willing to do the hard work, e.g. exercising and eating healthy, extra early mornings (& late nights) to invest in one’s dreams, fasting, etc. All these yield desirable results BUT require discipline. Dr. James G. Bilkey sums it up better; “You will never be the person you can be if pressure, tension and discipline are taken out of your life.”
Always remember – anything is achievable. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Small steps and consistency will get you there.
Have a great week.
