Alberta Ferretti SPRING 2014 – READY TO WEAR COLLECTION

Statement pieces that do not require much accessorising, Ferretti’s collection definitely does draw all attention to itself. With Latin American, floral inspiration splattered over patterned dresses coupled with translucent tops, deep plunged necks and an exotic colour palette… the playful side of sensuality is definitely brought out in this line.

The collection seemed to point to everyone’s favourite muse: Frida Kahlo. The deep bright reds, Mexican-inspired florals, and every patterned silk resembled a mural by her famous lover and respected painter – Diego Rivera. It is just like their love story – passionate, unpredictable and a fusion of American-Mexican culture.

Whilst taking inspiration from past artists, Ferretti’s bold plunge cuts and crop top / high waisted combinations definitely give her line a fresh take on the current trends. That being said, it’s out with covering up and in with showing off a new artistic side. Spring is the time to blossom, so let this collection inspire you to unleash that vibrant, artistic element in you… to transform something current to something fabulous.
